Considering how the education of girls in Nigerian is been targeted and attacked by the Terrorist group known as Boko Haram which makes it difficult for us as an organization to convince parents to send their girls to school, it has became necessary to join the Financial Action Task Force (FAFT). As a coalition member of FAFT, it was a privilege for me to represent Girls Education Mission International at the workshop for the sensitization of the Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) on the Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) that took place on Monday 26th February. The one day workshop was organized by the The Nigerian Network of Nongovernmental Organizations (NNGO) and the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SCULM) of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with the support of Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA). The workshop which focus on the “Effective implementation of the AML/CFT requirements in the NPOs sector has the Presence of the Executive Director of NNNGO, Mr. Oyebisi Oluseyi; Director of SCULM, Mr. Bamenga Bello as well as Mr. Francis who is the Director, Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU). Others present were: Mr. George Adebola, asst. Director SCULM; Mr. Mathew Onu, head of Finance and admin Unit SCULM; Mr. Abdulrahman Mustapha- Head of monitoring and analysis NFIU; Mrs Amachree- Unit head- Data-based management; . Erionmo Temitope Olubunmi and many Others. In a situation whereby the activities of NGOs, are been misused by terrorist groups or individuals, I have learnt in the workshop how to maintain and preserve the integrity of my organization by protecting my organization from terrorist abuse. It was indeed an enriching and empowering event where I found my capacity build
